Rotaract Club of Narayanganj Celebrates Safe Motherhood Day at Narayanganj 300 Bed Hospital
Narayanganj, Bangladesh – May 28, 2023 – The Rotaract Club of Narayanganj, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bangladesh, Rotary District 3281, successfully completed a remarkable project to observe Safe Motherhood Day at the Narayanganj 300 Bed Hospital in Khanpur, Narayanganj, Bangladesh.
The project, named “May 28, 2023 Safe Motherhood Day,” focused on promoting maternal health and providing nutritional support to the patients admitted in the hospital’s maternity department. The Rotaract Club worked diligently to make a positive impact on the lives of expecting mothers and raise awareness about the importance of safe childbirth.
Under the guidance of Dr. Md Jahangir Alam , the Head of the Gynecology Department at the hospital, the Rotaract Club of Narayanganj organized the distribution of nutritional food to the patients in the maternity ward. This initiative aimed to ensure that the expectant mothers receive the essential nutrients necessary for their well-being and the healthy development of their babies.
As part of the project, Dr. Md Jahangir Alam delivered a compelling public awareness speech on maternity issues, shedding light on the challenges faced by expectant mothers and emphasizing the significance of safe motherhood practices. His speech served as an informative and inspiring session, empowering the community with knowledge to make informed decisions regarding maternal health.
To maximize the project’s reach, the Rotaract Club Narayanganj utilized social media platforms to promote the event and raise awareness among a wider audience. Through engaging posts and informative content, the club effectively conveyed the message of safe motherhood, encouraging individuals to prioritize the well-being of expectant mothers and support them in their journey towards motherhood.
The project saw a total of 19 dedicated individuals participating actively to make it a success. Among them were notable members such as Mohammad Nahid, the President of the Rotaract Club for the year 2022-2023, and the board members for the Rotary year 2023-2024, including Khandaker Jawadul Islam (President), Md Shabuj Mahmud (Club Secretary), Ariful Islam Rasel (International Service Director), Rahat Ahmed Roman (Community Service Director), Sumaiya Akhter (Club Service Director), Mezbah Ferdouse Tahsin (Club Joint Secretary), and Md Nabil Efaz (Sergeant at Arms). Additionally, primary members, Esrat Jahan Eme, Ummul Khayer Hamja, Apon Saha, Arik Ahmed, Tahsin Rijon, Mahdiat Karim, Nusrat Jahan, Saiful Islam Zihadi, Ashraful Rayhan, Shoriful Islam, and Baishakhi Sabikun, also actively contributed to the project’s implementation.
The Rotaract Club of Narayanganj’s Safe Motherhood Day project has received praise and appreciation from the community for its efforts in supporting expectant mothers and raising awareness about maternal health. By ensuring access to nutritional food and disseminating vital information, the club has taken significant strides towards improving the well-being of mothers and their babies.
