REVISIT THE CHILD IN YOU

Back in school, Children’s day would signify a grand celebration in the school where the teachers would call off the class and put together a cultural performance for the kids and we would be receiving gifts and eatables from the school. Food, music and games – there was enough to fill our minds with fantasies and this would be the best part of the day.

But as we have grown up we have lost the value and the interest in celebrating this day. The relevance for this day is lost for most of the students. So we decided to do something different on this special occasion.

We Rotaract Club of Panvel Industrial Town celebrated this Day with the Children of our Rotary Hearing – Impaired School. These are special kids and thus nothing less than special celebration for them. We took the kids to Mumbai on a one day picnic. First we had a amazing visit to Gateway of India, where the kids saw the monument and took lot of pictures over there.
Our next stop was Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Kid’s Museum in Mumbai. The Children’s museum is a creative cultural lab that encourages creativity, curiosity and learning in the kids. The Children were given a guided tour and they were explained all the makings in a fun way through some fun stories. Next they were taken to the other side of the museum were the children went through the pre and proto history, sculptures, paintings, and all about the natural history.

After a long session we had lunch with the kids and they were given gifts from the museum team on the Children’s day occasion. Our next stop was Taraporewala Aquarium where the kids were shown all the marine and freshwater fishes. The kids were in awe at seeing all the different kinds of species.

The day came to end by going through the marine drive and capturing all those moments in the camera.
We were glad that we were a part of their happiness and can share the excitement of being a child again.

We Would like to specially thank the Military Force for arranging the Transportation for the School kids.
We would also like to thank AkshAy More #DRR Akash Chikate (Event and Protocol Secretary)and Kedar Mitkari (District Treasurer) for supporting us and gracing the event with their presence.
